Honda CB350 Road Racer Project
The bike could be described as a Honda CB350, a Replica CYB350, a Cafe Racer, Boy Racer, Road Racer, Clubman or just John's Honda.

February 2001

Finally have the frame back from sandblasting and powdercoating. Small lesson here - powercoating needs a lot of heat to cook the paint - melts the rubber bushes so I now have to sort out how to replace the back shock mounts and top engine mounts.

Progress for this month:

Found a reasonable 7" Honda 350 front drum to use (plus I now have 2 spare Honda wheels & an 8" Suzi T500 hub)
Frame is back from the powder coating
The spare swing arm has the good cast bushes
Settled on the 1mm over pistons / 9.5:1 CR, big
CAM and try the 500T carbs (the one on the left).

Frame standing again - early CB250
- later frames have some extra braces
round the steering head.

Engine cases, barrel and head painted

- and what I started with - early CB250
cases with a 350 topend.

Rear view of barrels / head

Gear change rearset

CB350 7" drum on Bol 'Dor legs

CB500T Carb

Clutch basket with extra washers
to increase spring pre-load

K4 genny end bearing - preferred
crank to use for high rev's

CB350 roller bearing -
weaker than the K4 above - if possible
find and use a K4 crank

Pre K4 offset primary drive

Later K4 straight cut primary drive -
so you then need the matching clutch.

Not very clear - dark bushes
are the fiber swing-arm bushes
while at the front are the stronger
cast bushes

Things are moving again.
