Successes During 2004

Two club members Sean Condon and Ben McDonald travelled to New Zealand in September 2004 to compete in the Oceania Bench Press Competition.

20 year old UQ student, Ben Mc Donald (pictured in the front row, third from the left) brought home a gold medal in the men's open 67.5kg division with a 162.5kg bench press. He narrowly missed 170kg.

Sean Condon (pictured in the front row first on the left) put in a sterling effort but suffered from difficulties with his technique.

Club Treasurer Steve How Lum travelled to South Africa in September to coach the Australian Men's Junior Powerlifting Team for the World Junior Championships in Pretoria South Africa.

All lifters significantly increased their "personal bests" and 22 year old Eban Traeger from Victoria placed 3rd in the 90kg division with a 285kg deadlift.
