This bike is reconstructed from as much of my
"original" as I had. In 1969, the bike set
two records on the Bonneville Salt Flats. In October, 1969, I ran
the bike at the Wheelstand National Championship Drag Races, in
Orange County, California. The bike went 13.37 seconds in
the 1/4, which was .02 under the (then) national record, held by
Kawasaki 500 Triple. It blew a piston on the next pass, and
I was unable to "back up" the record.....so never held
a drag record. It was a fun event, the object being to run
as much of the pass as possible on the back wheel (this bike
couldn't keep it up in top gear). As you can see, I've got
the bike back on the road, and it still makes that beautiful
noise.
